Loved this wine as an off the beaten path Ridge zin. Rather than the sweet egg yolk that Ridge zins often present, this wine had an earthy, almost dense, bite that resolved into rock and dust... Smoothed after an hour or so, holding on to a touch of bite. After drinking read the WS review which panned this wine giving it a 74. Citing a lack of fruit and a tough oaky character. I can't disagree with their description but the wine worked for me the evening i drank it.
