  • International Wine Cellar | Rating: 91

($150) Bright, full ruby-red. Aromas of dark raspberry, dark chocolate and cola. Bigger and broader than the Fay but with less obvious early sweetness. Very ripe, spicy flavors of dark chocolate, espresso and coffee offer noteworthy depth. Spreads out horizontally to coat the palate on the back end, finishing with dusty, fine, building tannins.

  • Wine Spectator | Rating: 86

Complex flavors of earthy currant, herb, sage and dill are a bit muddled on the palate. At this stage the tannins have a firm, dry, chewy edge. Decant. 1,300 cases made.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars is one of Napa Valley's most established and respected producers. The winery was founded by Warren Winiarski and his family in 1970 and it is best known for estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignons - CASK 23, S.L.V., and FAY. Over the years, the wines have become some of the most highly regarded and collected wines worldwide. They are fashioned to express classic elegance, structure, and ageability, and to reflect the place in which they are grown.
