2002 Landmark Chardonnay Lorenzo Vineyard

($45) Smoked meat and oak on the nose. Then lush and oily in the mouth, conveying a strong impression of iodiney soil tones. This rich, expansive chardonnay has the texture of premier cru Burgundy. Finishes long, adamantly dry and quite subtle.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: May/June 2004Wine Advocate | Rating: 92
My favorite Landmark Chardonnay is the single vineyard Lorenzo cuvee, which is always the most Burgundian because of it steely, mineral-filled personality. The 2002 Chardonnay Lorenzo Vineyard (650 cases) reveals plenty of crushed stone/cold steel notes intermixed with oranges, honeyed grapefruit, lemon rind, and a notion of peaches. With great fruit, tremendous minerality, fine definition, medium to full body, and admirable concentration, all buttressed by zesty acidity, it can be enjoyed over the next 2-4 years.Author: Robert ParkerWine Spectator | Rating: 88
