2002 Ken Wright Pinot Noir Savoya Vineyard
UNITED STATES / OREGON / YAMHILL-CARLTON
International Wine Cellar | Rating: 88
($40) Bright, dark red-ruby. Aromas of black cherry, pepper and chocolatey oak. Chunky but sappy, with juicy flavors of currant and maraschino cherry, complemented by spicy oak. Distinctly less primary, nuanced and deep than the Guadalupe bottling, this should also develop more quickly.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: March/April 2004Wine Spectator | Rating: 91
On the tart side, but brilliantly ripe and supple, tightly packed with blueberry, blackberry and currant flavors, touching on olive notes as the firm tannins wrap the edges of the finish.Author: Harvey Steiman

Located in rural Carlton, Oregon, Ken Wright Cellars is devoted to showcasing the inherent quality of selected vineyard sites. With a clarity and breadth that is unequaled by other varieties, they believe Pinot noir best expresses the character of these sites. Rather than stamping wine with a varietal trademark, they see Pinot noir as a vehicle for conveying the aroma, flavor and texture of the location in which it is grown.
