2002 Domaine Daniel Bocquenet Echézeaux Grand Cru
FRANCE / BURGUNDY / FLAGEY-ECHÉZEAUX
Wine Advocate | Rating: 94
The superb 2002 Echezeaux bursts forth with scents of red fruits, cinnamon, and loads of spices. This big, oaky, black fruit dominated wine is lush, chunky, and chewy. Hugely powerful, medium to full-bodied, and brawny, it slathers the palate with copious quantities of cassis, blackberries, brambleberries, and spices. This admirably extracted and concentrated effort should be consumed between 2008 and 2016.Author: Pierre RovaniRating: 92
Compared to the relatively open and forward St. Juliens, this is reserved, backward and tight with sappy black fruit aromas framed in a touch of oak spice followed by powerful, sappy and impressive flavors of superb depth and incredible length. The extract both stains and coats the palate and the finish lasts and lasts. This is extremely promising.Issue: 1st Quarter, 2005
