($130) Good red-ruby. Perfumed, highly nuanced nose combines wild red and black berries, faded rose, mocha, underbrush and subtle earth tones. Very suave on entry, then silky and spicy in the middle. Lush and smooth but light on its feet and impeccably balanced. Most impressive on the long, rising finish, which features very fine tannins and sappy red berry flavors.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: March/April 2005Jancis Robinson | Rating: 18
Cask sample.Very sumptuous nose - seductively perfumed. Round and gorgeous even now! Liquorously delicious. Sweet and round with tannins completely smothered.Author: Jancis RobinsonIssue: 38665Rating: 93
Rich, even extravagant and exotic black fruit leads to round, supple, forward and generous flavors with excellent richness and fine detail. The superbly long finish is impressive for its sheer depth and wonderful complexity and as many of the best '02s reveal, the tannins here are extremely fine. In sum, this is an absolutely stunning wine with serious potential.Issue: 1st Quarter, 2005

Popped and poured. Dark ruby with no hint of lightening at the rim. Gorgeous nose of dark fruits and spices, with a touch of vanillin and wood. In the mouth, very supple mouthfeel, with continued spice and dark fruits. Long, ripely tannic finish. A touch more wood than I prefer but really a first rate effort. Drinking perfectly well now; if it drops the oak hints over time it will be even better (and due to the concentration I believe it will).Author: Jeff
