2001 Kistler Chardonnay Dutton Ranch
UNITED STATES / CALIFORNIA / SONOMA
International Wine Cellar | Rating: 91
($60) Lemon-yellow color. Riper aromas of mirabelle, wet stone, spearmint and roasted oak; a bit higher-toned than the McCrea. Then sweet, lush and seamless but nicely framed by firm acids; in a rounder style but classically dry. Showing more oak spice on the lingering finish.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: May/June 2004Wine Advocate | Rating: 91
Huge, buttery, waxy, toasty caramel, and citrus oil aromas jump from the glass of the 2001 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch. Lavishly rich, exotic, and full-bodied, with loads of texture and density, this lusty, heady Chardonnay is one of the most forward Chardonnays in this portfolio. Consumption over the next 2-3 years is recommended.Author: Robert Parker
