This could hardly be more different from the Clos de la Roche or Charmes as it is backward, austere and completely locked up on the nose but it weighs in with even more weight and mind boggling amounts of sappy extract that stain and coat the palate. This is one very powerful, focused and precise wine that will take its sweet time to come around. Simply sensational quality with incredible length. Raphet has historically been an underrated source of Clos de Vougeot and here is another reason why.
