($135) Good medium ruby. Aromas of wild crushed dark berries, truffle, meat and oak. Sweet, lush and juicy, with very good extract and notes of truffle, chocolate and coconut. At once distinctly wild and rather suave, if such a combination is possible. Finishes with substantial chewy tannins that showed a slight dryness as the wine opened in the glass.

Austere, with a trim band of dill- and cedar-laced oak overshadowing the dry band of chalky currant flavors.
