Lots of currants, berries and minerals on the nose, with a full-bodied palate, silky tannins and a long, long finish. Very well done. Pure Cab and always outstanding.

The 2001 Cortaccio, the estateƒA?'s Cabernet, is virtually inky in color, very powerful in its nose of black currants and blackberries, mocha and mint, dense and potent in its flavors, focused and shaped on the flow and very warm and concentrated on the close. It is the epitome of central Tuscan Cabernet, and it is no accident that the vines of Castello dei Rampolla are a mere shouting distance away.
