($110) Dark red. Highly aromatic, sexy scents of cherry cola, exotic spices, grilled meat, licorice and vanilla. Deep and very sweet, showing superb depth to its lush blackberry and boysenberry flavors. A range of baking spices and vanillin oak adds sex appeal to this rich, full-bodied beauty. Silky-smooth, sweet and pure on the long, suave finish, the dark fruit flavors clinging tenaciously.

Open up 1 hour prior too drinking. the scent of mushrooms, wet wood, raw meat, vanilla, gravy, berries is brilliant, pierce through the nose, very rich. first sip is quite acidic, the tannins are present, maybe some wood too. during the evening it evolves in different directions, from more round too more rough. a very extracted wine, a mouthfull. but very good with food. well done. realy a must try, a pleasant surprise from spain. will probably last for a long time

What an impressive spanish wine. Its drinking superb now with nice dark fruit, brooding aromas of violet and slate. The tanins were so integrated and this flowed so softly over the palate that my glass seemed to always be empty. The complexity and flavors were spot on with what I enjoy

The Uvaguilera project was started by a group of investors about 9 years ago in the acclaimed Ribera del Duero region. The wines are made by Isaac Fernandez Montana, a member of the winemaking team at Mauro. The grapes sourced for the "Palomero" are from 70 and 80-year-old vines located at an altitude of 2200 feet, which gives the wine its incredible power, but allows for perfectly pitched acidity and grippy yet polished tannins.
