(just bottled) Moderately saturated medium ruby. Raspberry, smoke, leather and game on the nose. Lush and chewy, with pungent flavors of raspberry, dark chocolate and exotic spices. Impressively aromatic in the mouth, especially in light of the recent bottling. Finishes ripely tannic and quite long. This offers lovely fruit.

An enormously appealing, sexy wine, the 2000 exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color along with serious levels of concentrated cranberry, black cherry, and black currant fruit mixed with smoked herbs, licorice, and minerals. Once past the gorgeous perfume, this medium to full-bodied, ripe wine is textured, expansive, and a total hedonistic as well as intellectual turn-on!

Very dark crimson right out to rim. Sweet chocolatey notes with top note of herbaceousness that recall St-Emilions past. Lively, rounded, complete wine that is a thoroughly pleasurable, if early-maturing drink. Slightly short finish is the only disadvantage. Not really fine though.
