A lovely wine from this chƒteau. Aromas of crushed blackberries and raspberries. Full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a long refreshing finish. Very racy.

Extremely deep, healthy crimson. Attractively scented but quite lightweight with a distinctly dry finish. Serviceable but not exciting.

Tasted at the vertical held at the property, the 2000 Chateau Siran is evolving nicely in bottle - developing quite a precocious bouquet with mulberry, blackberry and cassis scents, touches of violet in the background, quite youthful still after 15 years. The palate is medium-bodied with an appreciable grip in the mouth, fine tannins here with satisfying weight; blackberry and cassis fan out gently towards the rounded finish. Having now encountered this twice in just a few weeks, it is safe to say that this millennial is just beginning to hit a sweet spot. Who knows...it may even improve further. Tasted February 2016.
Opened and decanted. Drank over 2 hours. Deep ruby red color ... not really any hint of age yet in this bottle. Aromas of plum and blackberry with a bit of leather and tobacco. Flavors of black fruit; still quite a juicy wine with good acidity; the tannins gripping a bit on the finish. Very solid 2000 Bordeaux and a great value!
