($145) Good bright ruby-red. Brooding, perfumed nose combines dark currant, graphite, minerals, dark chocolate and oriental spices. Dense, sappy and bright, with impressive penetration and freshness for the year. Intensely flavored and taut. Finishes with firm, integrated tannins and noteworthy length and finesse. This was quite tight a year ago in barrel but blossomed beautifully during its final months of elevage

Dark ruby with a developed rim. Very traditional, satisying, old-fashioned mature Pomerol nose. Pure dusty, sweet fruit - rather at odds with the determinedly modern Hosanna label in fact! Luscious stuff that should give lots of pleasure.

Dense ruby/purple, with a glorious nose of blackberries, cassis, white flowers, licorice, and a hint of sweet oak, this seamless wine is a classic example of purity and symmetry. Combining power with charm and finesse in a deeply textured, rich, elegant, yet authoritatively flavorful style, this is a brilliant effort as well as a compliment to proprietor Christian Moueix. Sadly, there are only 1,500 cases of this fabulous offering. It displays a singular style reminiscent of a hypothetical blend of Cheval Blanc and L'Evangile, the famous St.-Emilion and equally renowned Pomerol situated across from each other.

Fabulous aromas of pure cassis and crushed raspberry. Full-bodied, with soft, velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. A sensual, fantastic wine. Sorry I haven't tasted it until now. 1,500 cases made.

Deep rich velvety garnet colour. Intense blackcurrant leaf aromas with a little raspberry in the background. Rich, complex flavours on the palate; red berry fruits, spicy cedar and almond balanced with dry grippy tannins and fresh acidity. Long, smooth finish with blackcurrant and a hint of rosemary.

Located in the southwest of France, Bordeaux is the single largest fine-wine-producing region in the world, with more than 15,000 growers spread over 57 appellations and more than 700 million bottles produced annually. The region boasts a two-thousand-year winemaking history and some of the wine world's most recognized and highly sought-after names. Red Bordeaux blends comprise eighty percent of production, but dry and sweet whites are also well-known. The region is divided into the Left and Right Banks (of the Dordogne River); Cabernet Sauvignon prevails in the former and Merlot in the latter.
