A strong showing for this estate, which has been a perennial underachiever, the 2000 Ferriere exhibits a sweet cherry, black currant, leafy tobacco, and damp earth-scented bouquet. Medium-bodied, with ripe tannin, very good to excellent concentration, and a velvety finish, this charming, stylish effort will be at its best between 2006-2015. Deep crimson. Loose texture. Simple fragrance and really rather dull. (Strange that nowadays 12.5 per cent alcohol seems relatively low for a red bordeaux from a good vintage.)Author: Jancis RobinsonWine Spectator | Rating: 93
This shows lots of coffee, tobacco, currants and berry character. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a medium, silky finish. One of the great success stories in the Medoc of recent. And going strong as ever. 4,165 cases made.Author: James Suckling

A powerful, youthful colour which characterizes this vintage at the moment. Toffee, coffee and butterscotch, all oak-derived. Full, concentrated, creamy, seamless feel, with structure beneath. Fabulous quality here. Amazingly drinkable now from this format, but will benefit from 12 years in the cellar.Author: NDogg
