Dark ruby, with a nose of loamy soil and mineral intermixed with black cherry, currant, and herbs, this medium-bodied wine shows very good depth. Moderately high tannins, and plenty of structure as well as good acidity. This wine should be cellared for at least 5-6 years

Shows loads of pretty blackberry and raspberry, with a smoky undertone. Full-bodied, with fine tannins, a lovely structure and a long finish. Still tight. 6,500 cases made.

Very dark. Racy, leafy nose (I wondered whether it was Graves when tasting it blind). Still quite austere and I can't see it ever having quite enough flesh in the middle. Lacks the grace of the Duhart-Milon.
Leave for a couple more years. Aromatically interesting floral, pine forest and mineral notes after decanting for two hours. It does stretch out in the glass, signaling continued development, which is encouraged. Is it taut and lean, or a touch under-ripe? Medium bodied, higher toned, but more should be possible -- come on, this is the 2000 vintage, a 2nd Cru Classe..., vineyards close to Brane Cantenac. A $35 wine, definitely under-performing its pedigree and potential.
