Intense aromas of ripe plums. This is full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, long finish. A beauty. Good value from Pomerol. An estate to watch. 1,920 cases made.

Opaque purple-colored with notes of blackberries, mocha, and licorice, this is a strong, powerful effort with dry, astringent tannin, medium to full body, and good sweetness. The tannin may cause this wine to dry out. The 2000 Beau Soleil was the last vintage produced by Jean-Michel Arcaute before his tragic premature death in 2001.
