Fresh, enticing scents of earth, lemon, pear and apple are firm, rich and concentrated, notably elegant, and even understated, showing off hints of mineral, hazelnut and nectarine. Long and detailed on the finish. 375 cases made.

The 1999 Chardonnay Three Sisters Vineyard possesses aromas of honeyed lemon, smoky hazelnuts, minerals, pineapples, and a hint of passion fruit. The oak is beautifully integrated, and the wine is exceptionally long in the mouth. This is a grand cru look-alike. Enjoy it over the next 5-7 years.

A light gold colored Chardonnay with green highlights. The wine reveals compelling and powerful aromas of oyster shells, flint, vanilla, deep white fruit, and lemon. Lots of power on the palate with intense lengthy flavors of concentrated fruit, stone, and oak. Drink now to 2007 (perhaps longer ? as hard as that is to believe for a California Chardonnay).

Drank at Ruth's Chris with Dick Nowak, Todd Homa and Bill. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! Helen Turley is a GODDESS!!!!!! This was amazing. Exquisite nose, crisp, no trace of oak, loads of fruit, just enough minerality and a finish that kept going and going and going. I am impressed! My first Marcassin and definitely NOT my last.

One of the most influential mavens of modern California winemaking, Helen Turley creates in Marcassin wines that are among the most sought-after in California. Though the wines are made following a traditionalist Burgundian style, they are unique, complex representations of California Pinot and Chardonnay. Turley's straightforward winemaking philosophy is, "...great vineyards, meticulously farmed, limited yield, long hang time and natural yeast."
