1999 Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
International Wine Cellar | Rating: 92
Bright, deep ruby-red. Very primary aromas of blackberry, violet and licorice, with a hint of charred oak. Juicy and tightly wound, with intense, pure, floral flavors of framboise, licorice and menthol. Distinctly austere and not showing its flesh today; still a baby and dominated by its structure. Very long, precise, firmly tannic finish. This got more and more interesting as it opened in the glass. |From grapes picked between the rains,| noted Lardiere.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: September/October 2002Wine Spectator | Rating: 84

The red and black currant-scented 1999 Bonnes Mares (domaine) is light to medium-bodied and foursquare. This concentrated, intense, blackberry-flavored wine is unyielding and firm. It has a highly expressive personality yet is loaded with rugged tannin.Author: Pierre Rovani

Nose blackberry, spice with charred wood. Intense flavors of dark fruits with the smoky Bonnes Mares signature flavor. This is a classic wine. The half is drinking perfectly now, but will continue to get better. This wine has a long life ahead of it.Drink Dates: 2009+Author: Ricknat1
