($160) Medium ruby. Deep, sappy aromas of black raspberry, plum and cocoa powder. Thick, lush and seamless but sappy and vibrant. Offers lovely inner-mouth verve for a wine this dense. Finishes with graceful, dusty tannins and superb chocolatey persistence.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: March/April 2002Wine Advocate | Rating: 92
The dark ruby-colored 1999 Romanee-St.-Vivant displays raspberry, cherry, and blackberry aromas intermingled with freshly cut flowers. Medium to full-bodied and extremely spicy, this wine is packed with blackberries and black cherries. It is refined yet firm and highly structured. Its oak-laden finish reveals some alcoholic warmth.Author: Pierre RovaniRating: 90
Deep, spicy and earthy with background hints of mocha and coffee that are followed by robust, intense and firm full-bodied, indeed powerful flavors and possess excellent length if not the elegance and purity of the best in this flight. Still, those who like muscle in their RSV will find it here.Issue: 2nd Quarter, 2005
