Attractive plum, cherry and berry aromas, with a hint of toasted oak. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a lovely, sweet fruit, berry aftertaste. Delicious. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. 27,000 cases made.

The deep ruby/purple-colored 1999 Tignanello exhibits rare elegance married to considerable flavor intensity as well as power. Normally a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc aged in French oak for 12 months, the 1999 offers up aromas of new saddle leather intertwined with black cherries, currants, creosote, vanilla, and spice box. Rich and medium-bodied, with adequate acidity as well as sweet but noticeable tannin, it is the third consecutive exceptional vintage from this reference winery for modern, aggressively-styled Tuscan reds.

One of the best |Supertuscans| which did not disappoint us after 16 year from bottling! A complex, yet luscious and enjoyable nectar as a perfect complement of our beef stew. Purple/crimson color, a beautiful aroma and a long persistence.

Solid wine with nice balance of tannins and fruits, blackberry, strawberry, cinammmon and licorice. A solid effort and a nice wine for special occassions. This really complemented a lovely tri-roast.

Although the Antinori family has been making wine for over 600 years and is steeped in tradition, they haven't been afraid to modernize production and to take an innovative approach to blending. One result is the world famous Super Tuscan "Tignanello," a blend of Sangiovese (85%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%), and Cabernet Franc (5%). Marchesi Piero Antinori is the current proprietor of the estate, and was instrumental in creating Tignanello, propelling the popularity of Super Tuscans worldwide.

Antinori produces wines from the Italian regions of Tuscany and Umbria. In addition to Tignanello, some of Antinori's most well-known wines include Solaia, Guado al Tasso, Campo di Sasso, Badia a Passignano, Pian delle Vigne, and Chianti Classico. Antinori's various estates include 1,400 hectares of vineyards planted in Bolgheri, Montalcino, Orvieto, Montepulciano, and Chianti Classico, as well as the emerging locales Sovana and southern Maremma.
