Wild beast. Heavily extracted style. Toasted to the max, with plum and black fruit, this is rich and flavorful, full-bodied, but drying a bit from the extracted wood tannins, which give the finish a sandpaper feel. Time may tame it.

The best Esmonin wine yet again in 98 with its marvelously truffled, earthy pinot fruit and full-bodied, slightly austere flavor profile. The tannins are buried beneath the rich extract and its grand cru quality is evident. An extremely good effort and at the price this usually sells, an absolute bargain.
