Bright berry and fresh spice aromas, with lovely clarity. Full-bodied, with super, well-integrated tannins and a long, long, fruity finish. Very fine indeed.

Medium-deep red. Expressive aromas of redcurrant, smoked meat, chocolate and tobacco, plus an exotic nutty perfume; still a bit shocked by the bottling. Rather closed in the middle and lacking precision, but offers a smooth, low-acid texture. Compared to the '98, the tannins here are a bit more apparent, perhaps because the wine has less density.
