  • International Wine Cellar | Rating: 92

Good bright red. Fruitier, riper, more important aromas of cherry, raspberry and chocolate. Sweet and velvety in the mouth, with excellent concentration and impressive underlying structure. Shows more extract to support the tannins, which reach more of the mouth. Very strong juice.

    Issue: November/December 1998
  • Wine Advocate | Rating: 91

The 1995 Barolo Bric de Fiasc is backward, with scents of smoke, tar, soy, jammy black cherry and blackberry fruit, and pain grille. Full-bodied, concentrated, expansive, soft, and seductive, with 13.5% alcohol and moderate tannin in the finish, it should be drunk over the next 10-12 years.

  • Wine Spectator | Rating: 93

This wonderful, modern-style, full-bodied '95 Barolo packs in layers of mocha, vanilla, cigar box and red fruit notes. Shows ripe flavors and tannins and a long, impressive finish.

Established in 1921 in Castiglione Falletto, one of the historic Langhe townships, this estate is now entering its third generation of Barolo production. With a historic connection to the land at the forefront of the winemaking philosophy, this estate creates exceptional Barolos, Barberas, and Dolcettos. The Bric del Fiasc Barolo is the hallmark of the family's production, from a vineyard that always produced the best Nebbiolo fruit. In 1978, this fruit was vinified on its own for the first time and it has remained a special bottling ever since.
