Wine Spectator | Rating: 89Starts with lots of anise, plum and wild berry, then tightens up, turning crisp. Needs short-term cellaring to develop a little more flesh and body.Author: James Laube
Wine Advocate | Rating: 89This dark purple-colored wine displays a tight but promising nose of spice, vanilla, and blackcurrants. Straightforward on the palate, with medium body, as well as excellent concentration and ripeness, this tightly-knit 1995 should turn out to be a very good, possibly outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon made in a stylish, suave, savory manner. I especially admired the balance between the wine's tannin and fruit. (Tasted in barrel.)Author: Robert Parker
Winegrower Cathy Corison produces artisan Cabernet Sauvignon from great benchland vineyards between Rutherford and St. Helena in the Napa Valley. The estate vines of Kronos Vineyard, one of the oldest Cabernet vineyards in Napa, surround Corison Winery in its Victorian-style barn. Farmed organically and growing on gravelly loam soils, the gnarly old vines produce small yields and wines of uncommon concentration and refinement. They are juicy with blackberry and plum fruit, enhanced with a mineral note and violet perfume. Corison's wines are noted for their consistency and impeccable balance, powerful and elegant at the same time.
