Absolutely gorgeous black, spicy, impressively focused fruit that merges seamlessly into ripe, powerful, delineated flavors culminating in a long, penetrating finish. As with the Chambolle villages, this too has begun to mellow though it should continue to improve for another few years. Drinks like a smaller-scaled version of the '93 Musigny and if this continues its upward climb, my score may very well be conservative. Consistent notes.

The Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses has an attractive dark ruby/purple color, as well as a tight but promising nose of pure black-cherries and raspberries gently infused with subtle, toasty new oak. It is a well-delineated, structured, and focused wine from which structuralists and high acid freaks will get a big buzz. I admire its class, purity, grace, and elegance. Hopefully, the fruit will hold while the tannin melts away.

A blockbuster, dark in color, delivering beautiful cranberry, vanilla and plum aromas, full body and masses of fruit and tannins.
  • Self | Rating: 94

Beautiful still youthful garnet red with slight amber rim; full rich nose of primarily black fruit, vanilla and leather; full-flavored, complex and rich on the palate, with excellent structure and good acidity; soft integrated tannins; elegant and classy with a terrifically long satisfying finish. Fully mature but will hold for several more years

Comte de Vogue is often considered the greatest wine estate in Chambolle-Musigny. It traces its history back to 1450 and amazingly, after 20 generations, the same family still runs the show. The domaine owns 7.25 hectares of the Le Musigny vineyard; these average 40 years old and are labeled Vieilles Vignes. The property also includes smaller holdings of Bonnes-Mares and Premier Cru Chambolle-Musigny. The blending of tradition and modernity in winemaking has resulted in wines that are revered by critics and wine lovers around the world.
