Wine Advocate | Rating: 92Jadot's stunning 1990 Beaune Clos des Ursules is fully mature, although there is no rush to consume it as it will enjoy another 5-8 years of life. The color is a healthy medium ruby with lightening at the edge. A sweet, earthy, mineral, dusty, black cherry-scented nose is intense and ripe. In the mouth, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with a plush texture, a subtle note of toasty oak, and a long, layered, heady finish. The acidity is present, but it is not intrusiveAuthor: Robert Parker
Burghound | Rating: 87This has passed from the youthfully primary stage of exuberant pinot fruit to a not altogether seductive somber, and distinctly secondary, aromatic one where there is complexity but no vibrancy. The flavors are still focused, rich and only moderately structured with good if not exceptional length. It's frankly hard to say where this is headed as the fruit may not outlast the remaining structure. In short, perfectly pleasant but not exceptional and surprisingly, this is less good than several other of the Jadot Beaune '90s.Author: Allen Meadows
