1990 Gosset Vintage Extra Brut Celebris Millésimé
FRANCE / CHAMPAGNE /
Rating: 91
Concentrated, assertive fruit flavors define this crisp, well-balanced and youthful-tasting Champagne. The texture is velvety and all the flavor pieces seem to be in place, but it may need time to develop more complexity.

Gosset is the oldest currently operating wine house in Champagne. Although small for a grand Champagne producer, Gosset makes close to 50,000 cases a year, which is approximately the same output as Krug. They are located in the town of Ay, in the heart of Champagne, along with such well-known Champagne houses as Bollinger and Deutz, and they have been making wine there since 1584. None of the Gosset Champagnes ever goes through malolactic fermentation, and this is a hallmark of the house style, producing persistent, fresh, and lively wines.
