($81) Faded red. Gorgeous , multidimensional aromas of dried red fruits, white flowers, spicecake, leather, underbrush, graphite and lavender sachet. Sil ky and seemingly weightless, with a haunting crystalline purity to the sweet strawberry and redcurrant flavors Sweetly insinuating on the finish, with lingering mineral and strawberry flavors. A remarkable wine that's completely out of step with today's styles : this is the stuff that gets die-hard Rioja traditionalists all weepy. (Think Global, Santa Barbara, CA)

The color leans toward amber and the aromas toward earth and autumn leaves in this fully mature red. Has a light, fresh texture, with notes of tea, leather and dried cherry.
Not tasting all that old. A little flat, not a lot of fruit, but still some nice character

Probably to be categorized with |wines from days of yore| but not only in terms of its age, but style - this is old world, impeccably structured, low alcohol goodness. Lighter colored than most newer Rioja but hardly resembling a light bodied Burgundy. Had wonderful tart cherry and some heavy citrus. Lots of minerals/earth, a hint of coffee and herbs. With its light-medium frame it was perfect for summer flavors, squash, lemon, and pretty easy to drink. Most remarkable was the way the nose just never quit, even with the last drop remained in the bottle that the server left. This never faded over the 2 1/2 hours we drank it...could there be another 5 years on this?

Still has legs believe it or not. Very elegant, mature Rioja. Subtle notes of candied red fruit framed by tones of earth and mushrooms. Delicate in the mouth with a nice finish.
