Fine wine prices surge in September auctions

WinePrices.com's wine price indexes were up strongly in September after the normal summer slow period in global wine auction activity. The top three most actively traded fine wine indexes were up 9%-12% in September and 33%-44% year to date. Every index has double digit YTD gains and the most active indexes are within reach of turning in positive year-on-year returns.  See below for a table of some key stats and the full summary results page for all nine indexes (and archives from prior months).

....I read the HK article...thank goodness there are 1000s of other wines we can all enjoy at totally correct prices, from all over this vinous-world. In the last week I have been lucky enough to drink, top Barolos (Conterno G., Conter A., Mascarello, Giacosa) from 1990 etc...also Ch.Montrose & Ch.Lafite Rothschild 2000 y 2004...I did not get any pleasure from the Barolo (maybe they don´t travel)...and the Bordeaux, well, good for the HKers, they probably will never know what these wines used to taste like pre-1996, my goodness they were so dull aswell. Here´s to the day we can all drink Greek wine & LIVE!!
