This is truly the best of the best from Franconia. Clean and brilliant citrus fruit with a hint of spice, this dry Grand Cru wine has a phenomenal balance of concentrated fruit and acidity so critical to German Riesling. Its mineral character is in perfect equilibrium with it spiciness and remains on the palate as well as in your memory for quite a while.

The Wirsching family has been growing and producing Silvaner, Riesling, and Muller Thurgau, among varietals, in the Franken wine region for 15 generations. The estate maintains 75 ha of low-yielding vineyards at the foot of the Schwanberg mountain in the Iphofer village. Here the Keuper gypsum soils add minerality, and the mild climate allows for the development of full fruit flavors. Of special note are the muti-layered wines from the vineyard Julius-Echter-Berg, a “Great Growth” in the German classification system.
