Roy Hersh's For The Love of Port
Considered one of the leading Port wine authorities and journalists in the United States, in June 2003, Hersh was one of just two Americans selected by the Port and Douro Wine Institute (IVDP) to be "enthroned" into their "Confraria" (Port wine brotherhood). Following his induction into the Confraria, Roy launched For The Love Of Port, in February of 2004. Three years later, the newsletter now goes to port aficionados in nearly 65 countries with many subscribing to his online database of reviews.

Richard Juhlin's Champagne Club
The Richard Juhlin Champagne Club is a global source of freshly updated information about the world of champagne. Richard Juhlin's Champagne Guide currently contains reviews and tasting notes for over 5,600 different champagnes, including listings of current and potential points. Author of several of books about champagne and a number of articles for magazines such as Spectacle du Monde, La Revue de Champagne, Wine International, Fine Wine and others, Richard Juhlin holds the world record for tasted champagnes.

Richard Juhlin uses the 100 point scale to rate champagne, but a few factors must be considered to fully appreciate his reviews:
  • The scale starts at 0
  • 50 points is an average mark for Non-Vintage (NV) champagne
  • NV wines rated below 80 - especially those from the fringes of the region - should not be avoided
  • The final score is based on an overall impression of the wine and not a summation of points for different qualities or characteristics
