Personal Cellar Overview – How it works

Our Approach

Although every client's needs are unique, we always begin by listening to your wants and needs. Depending on what you would like to do, other steps in our approach may be expanded or contracted as appropriate:

• Understand - we schedule time to sit down and discuss your current needs and future desires.
• Design - based on our understanding, we create a plan to achieve your wine collection goals.
• Execute - we execute the design for your wine collection, based on the guidelines we've created.
• Maintain - we maintain your collection and cellar(s) based on your specific needs. We do the work; you enjoy the wine!

Available services include:

Buying and selling*

• Review wine retail and auction offers to provide recommendations on purchases and pricing
• Source wines
• Bid at auctions, as requested
• Recommend and coordinate sale of wine, as needed, to ensure maximum price

Cellar management

• Upload new purchases into VinCellar which includes: Bar coding, Invoice scanning, Photos, Drink dates
• Remove wine from VinCellar
• Ongoing cellar organization
• Reports on cellar holdings

Cellar maintenance

• Assistance with proper wine insurance coverage
• Cellar designer referrals and coordination
• Refer and manage cellar monitoring devices

Enjoyment

• Provide pairings and recommendations for entertaining
• Handle charitable wine donations
• Coordinate transit of wine to other locations

*Personal cellar managers will recommend sources for buying and selling wine, of which Vinfolio may be an option. Personal cellar managers offer an independent opinion and receive no financial incentive if you choose to buy or sell through Vinfolio.

Once we've agreed on the services you need, we offer several packages that are designed to accommodate most cellar management needs:

• Two days/ month
• Four days/ month
• Additional days in hourly increments (SF Bay Area only)

Schedule your days

Each Personal cellar manager supports a limited number of clients so that they can maintain the flexibility to match your scheduling requirements. However, we recommend you schedule specific dates as soon as you can.
