Drouhin Oregon - Pinot Noir Willamette Valley
The PN from Oregon I have tasted before have been pleasing, light and harmonious, but unimpressive. This wine, however, appeaLs more to me than most PNs whether fron the new or the old world - but then I haven't tasted great Burgundies....
Red berries on the nose, but not the "sweet" strawberries from other Oregon PNs, it's deeper and more earthy. Add some mint and other spices and some "wood" (cedar). Well structured in the mouth, excellent acids, medium body. A long finish with obvious tannins and a pleasing bitterness. A seriuos wine.

Roagna - Dolcetto d'Alba
New vintage of this good Dolcetto. Dense red/violet. Concentrated nose dominated ny sweet cherries and "cocktail berries", but with some deeper, earthy or animal notes as well, and some herbal stuff. The cherry fruit follows on in the mouth, with lovely refreshing and well balanced acids. The finish is long and tannic for a Dolcetto, but typical for Roagna.
Still my favourite Dolcetto. It might just be me, but I think it is gettng better with every vintage. This time I MUST try to cellar some bottles for a few years development, It's difficult, because they are so good as they are - it's difficult to leave them alone!

Roagna - Barbaresco Paje
To my surprise it has been almost one year since I last tasted this wine.
Compering with the older notes, I think the wine now has a much more open nose, but the main focus is still on fruit and flowers; cherries, sweet red "cocktail berries", warm spice, roses and violets, with some hints of the tobacco theme. Elegant and complex. In the mouth the feel is lovely with balanced and refreshing acids. The body is medium full, still it fills the mougt completely. The barbaresco taste sticks in the mouth for a long time, but the tannic punch has changed into a pleasing dryness.
I love this wine, but it might not be one for the long cellar haul?

Produttori del Barbaresco - Barbaresco
I first tasted this when it was released i Norway some 6 months ago, and was not overly impressed. I ame beginning to change my mind now.
Decanted for a couple of hours. The nose is in no way opulent and intrusive - it's rather witheld and "siviliced", rather soft and moderate. But it is so elegant, and so Barbaresco, and so lovely. On the palate it gives the same impression - elegant, refined, medium bodied, lovely acids. But the finish is a tannic shock that lasts on for a good while.
The lot that this bottle comes from, contains 25% riserva grape material. This is going to be very, very good!

Koehler-Ruprecht - Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Auslese Trocken
Rich and full dry Riesling, quite mature. Excellent acids. Served with "Rakfisk", cured trout with a distinct and quite powerful taste, and the match was better than anybody had hoped for, actually quite excellent.
