RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a way to easily distribute a list of headlines, update notices, and sometimes inventory changes to a wide number of people. Think of it as a one-stop shop for all the stuff you want to read online. For the consumer, an aggregator or reader, either web-based or installed on your computer, ties it all together.

To make use of this information, you have to download and install an RSS feed reader like SharpReader. Every so often, the aggregator checks the RSS feeds you selected. You log on to the aggregator and see the updates to your favorite sites, blogs and stores, all in one place. For more information on RSS, please visit:

1996 Moccagatta - Barbera d'Alba Basarin
Really enjoyed this. Pretty morello cherry fruit on the palate, hint of cranberry too. Good amount of acid, still racy, balanced by some earth and a bit dusty.

2000 Chateau St Jean - Cinq Cepages
Improved with work. Blackberry and black cherry fruit, anise, licorice, nice texture. Something a bit earthy about it too.

2004 Viticcio - Monile
Really enjoyed this. The cab really came through. Lush, rich, dark fruits, smooth texture and nice spiciness. Heavy handed on the oak, but still nice.

2005 Paveil-de-Luze
Notes taken on distant memory, but similar to an earlier tasting a couple of years ago, only even better. Richer, smoother, better. Red fruits mixed in with the black, and hint of menthol.

2002 Chablisienne - Chablis Vaillon 1er Cru
2nd tasting of this wine almost 4 yrs after first. Still austere, possible oxidation, though had good and not so good moments. Good minerality, nice body, fine with the scampi dinner.
