Arthur, David - Cabernet Sauvignon Estate
Deep dark ruby red color, nose of blue, black and red berries, nicely integrated soft tannins, with a medium long finish. Beginning to fade, drink in the next 2-3 years.
2002
Harlan - The Maiden
Decanted for 8 hours, this is one of the best wines of the vintage, a deep ruby red color, huge nose of blackberries and cassis, huge well integrated tannins with a long spectacular finish. This was one of 22 bottles consumed at an amazing wine dinner with buddies of mine. This was one of the wines of the evening up against some really great bottles.
1971
Mission Haut-Brion
Still deep ruby red, soft beautiful nose, fleshy tannins with a lovely lengthy finish. For a 39 year old wine this is super juicy and a really great wine.
1999
Spottswoode - Cabernet Sauvignon Estate
I decanted the bottle for 1 1/2 hours, put it back in the bottle, took to my friends and opened for another 1 1/2 hours. A deep ruby red wine with a beautiful nose of huge berries, wonderful soft tannins and a long one minute plus finish. A really nice wine needs some air, drinks beautifully.
2003
Pahlmeyer - Red
beautiful deep ruby red, soft nose of berries, cassis and leather, soft tannins which become much larger after about 2 1/2 hours, with a long persistent finish. A really nice wine to drink over the next 10 years.
