V Madrone
Owners Chris and Pauline Tilley discovered a gem of a property when they acquired their vineyard site, which had been part of one of the first wineries established in the Napa Valley during the late 19th century. The vineyard, which produced up to 20,000 gallons of wine for the August Hersch Winery from 1883-1894, had been fallow for over 100 years and represented one of the last remaining undeveloped historic parcels in the Valley. Winemaker Chris Dearden produces 550 cases from the 3.5 acre site and 2005 is the first commercial release.
