Howell Mountain provides a true "outpost" for these wines, with rocky soil, cool breeze, and a stunning view. At an altitude of 2,100 feet above the Napa Valley floor, owners Terry and Juli Pringle grow Zinfandel, Cabernet, Petit Sirah, and Grenache, all organically. The debut vintage was the 1998 100% Znfandel, which garnered a 93-point score from The Wine Spectator. Thomas Brown is the full time winemaker, and Ehren Jordan, winemaker at Turley Wine Cellars, consults. A second project, True Vineyard, debuts in 2008 with a Bordeaux blend estate wine.
