Mauritson Estate Wines
The Mauritson Family has grown grapes in Dry Creek's Rockpile region since 1868. Clay Mauritson is the latest of six generations to run the vineyard, and is responsible for establishing the winery, which produced its first vintage in 1998. The Rockpile appellation seems best suited for growing Petite Sirah and Zinfandel, and Mauritson has pursued these with great enthusiasm, making vineyard and winery improvements in search of ever better wines. The family manages over 300 acres in this area as well as other parts of Dry Creek Valley.
