Eric Hamacher arrived in Oregon to make Pinot Noir after spending over a decade in California making wine at Chalone, Soter and Mondavi. He was influential in the movement to develop cooperative wine studios where small producers in Oregon could share state-of-the-art equipment and maintain creative independence. Along with wife Luisa Ponzi, he created the Carlton Winemakers Studio as the first certified "green" cooperative winery in the country. Fruit is sourced from eight different sites located throughout the Willamette Valley, allowing Hamacher a diverse selection from which to choose his final blends.
