Enkidu
Philip Staehle, owner/winemaker, has been around wine in Sonoma since the mid 1980s when he worked with Richard Graff on the Carmenet project for Chalone. Enkidu gets its name from a character in the Epic of Gilgamesh, written 4000 years ago in Sumeria. Enkidu was the lover of land and protector of animals and was proven to also enjoy wine in this ancient text. The winery's specialty is small production Syrah, Petite Sirah; and Pinot Noir.
