Dyer
Bill and Dawnine Dyer have a singular focus - to produce an intense, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend that accurately reflects the character of their estate property on Diamond Mountain. Both bring impressive credentials to this, their own winemaking project. For 20 years, Bill lent his expertise to Sterling Vineyards, first as Cellarmaster and then as Winemaker. He currently consults on a number of projects in both the US and Canada. Dawnine's 25 years as winemaker at Domaine Chandon saw her creating new sparkling wines and styles. In 1993, these two California winemaking veterans planted their own vineyard to the five major Bordeaux varieties. On rocky, inhospitable soil, the Dyers' vines yield about 2.5 tons/acre, making for a "restrained, balanced style that reflects pride of place."
