Andeluna started in the Tupungato Valley in the 19th century as a family winery called Bodega La Rural, founded by an Italian immigrant, Felipe Rutini. In 1995, after the family sold La Rural, Felipe's grandson, Ricardo Reina Rutini, partnered with businessman H. Ward Lay (son of the founder of Frito-Lay) and created what is now Andeluna. The winemaker is Silvio Alberto and the Consulting Enologist is Michel Rolland.
