Central Otago is becoming the hot zone for Pinot Noir in New Zealand, and Amisfield's production lends even more credibility to that fact. The high altitude and cool climate allow for the creation of traditional, Burgundian-style Pinots that will entice any Pinot aficionado. The philosophy of winemaker Jeff Sinnott (ex-Isabel winemaker and viticulturist) is that all of the wines he makes are natural, unencumbered reflections of the land and its surroundings. In addition to Pinot Noir, Amisfield has also produced Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling (from Marlborough), Pinot Gris and a sparkling Chardonnay blend called "Arcadia."
