San Francisco, September 12, 2005 -- Vinfolio announced today that it has partnered with Stephen Tanzer in the first-ever licensing agreement of International Wine Cellar (IWC) content for use in an online cellar management application. This partnership integrates over 45,000 IWC reviews and scores with VinCellar™, Vinfolio's online cellar management application.
Vinfolio members will have automatic access to IWC scores through VinCellar. Additionally, Vinfolio members who subscribe to Stephen Tanzer's IWC may access his reviews within their VinCellar accounts -- meaning collectors may view IWC tasting notes and scores within the context of their personal collections.
Stephen D. Tanzer, editor and publisher of the critically acclaimed International Wine Cellar, samples more than 12,000 wines annually, spending several months each year tasting and discussing wine with their makers both in the U.S. and abroad.
"I recently took advantage of Vinfolio's inventorying services to catalog my personal cellar in New York and now use VinCellar to manage my entire collection. It's an unusually flexible and powerful application, and remarkably easy to use," said Stephen Tanzer. "So making my reviews available to my subscribers through Vinfolio is a natural extension for me -- it increases the value of my reviews to subscribers who need a good cellar management application."
To encourage both Vinfolio members and IWC subscribers to take advantage of the new integration, Vinfolio is offering a free 6-month Vinfolio membership when users register a Tanzer subscription in VinCellar.
"Providing a convenient way to use professional reviews and pricing data when managing one's cellar is a fundamental part of our commitment to serving the needs of wine collectors," said Stephen Bachmann, Vinfolio founder and CEO. "I am thrilled that we are able to add a reviewer as preeminent as Stephen Tanzer, and I know our members will be as well."
