San Francisco, February 13, 2006 -- Vinfolio announced today an exclusive partnership with Antonio Galloni to license his Piedmont Report content for use in VinCellar™, its online cellar management application.
With over 3,000 readers in 25 countries, Piedmont Report is the only completely independent guide to the wines of Piedmont. Published four times a year, Galloni provides the kind of detailed and timely coverage usually reserved for the wines of Bordeaux, Burgundy, and California.
Vinfolio members will have automatic access to Piedmont Report scores through their personal VinCellar accounts. Additionally, Vinfolio members who subscribe to Antonio Galloni's Piedmont Report may also access his reviews and tasting notes and view them within the context of their personal collections.
Antonio Galloni samples more than 2,000 wines annually, traveling from his home in New York City to Italy numerous times per year. Galloni's subscription website, www.piedmontreport.com, was launched last month and subscriptions are available online for $60 per year or $110 for two years.
"I have found VinCellar™ to be an invaluable tool in managing my own personal collection. The software enables me to keep an accurate inventory of my wines in various locations, as well as track pre-arrival and cost details. Vinfolio's Wine Price File is the most comprehensive compilation of auction data I have seen on collectible wines, and is a great reference for tracking the market value of fine wines. Making my reviews available through Vinfolio increases their utility to my subscribers and provides valuable content to Vinfolio's rapidly growing customer base of wine collectors."
To encourage Piedmont Report subscribers to take advantage of the new integration, Vinfolio is offering a free 6-month Vinfolio membership when subscribers or existing Vinfolio members register a Piedmont Report subscription in VinCellar™.
"Antonio Galloni's focus and expertise on Italian wine will be a valuable tool to assist our collectors in understanding and experiencing the world-class wines of Piedmont. We're excited to be integrating his reviews into VinCellar™ and exposing our members to his vast knowledge of Italian wines," said Stephen Bachmann, Vinfolio founder and CEO.
