2004 Harlan Estate
“The 2004 Harlan Estate is probably the most precocious and accessible Harlan Estate that this perfectionist team has made. Already compelling, the wine has notes of roasted coffee, charcoal, blackberry, spring flowers, and some background sweet, toasty notes. Dense, fleshy, exuberant, even flamboyant by the standards of Bill Harlan, this wine exhibits no jaggedness or rough edges, has relatively high tannins, but they melt away on the palate. The wine is sensationally well-endowed, long, and rich - a tour de force in winemaking.” - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
2001 Harlan Estate
“Rivaling the 1994 and 1997, the 2001 Harlan Estate is a perfect wine for my palate...an extraordinary effort that comes across as a hypothetical blend of Mouton-Rothschild, La Mission-Haut-Brion, and Montrose...An inky/purple color is accompanied by a stupendous bouquet of lead pencil shavings interwoven with coffee, new saddle leather, melted licorice, cedarwood, black currant liqueur, and violets. Explosive richness, a marvelous, full-bodied texture, and fabulous purity, concentration, complexity, and nobleness are the stuff of legends.” - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
1999 Harlan Estate
“Full medium ruby. Superripe, deep nose offers currant, plum, black cherry, truffle, smoke, meat and cedary spices. A wine of great sweetness and flavor intensity; remarkably suave in spite of its great solidity. Offers an almost liqueur-like ripeness and great density but sound acids keep the wine lively. Palate-staining aftertaste features substantial tongue-dusting but fine tannins. As extraordinary as the nearly confectionery, more roasted Harlan Estate '97 is, this wine may well have more verve.” - Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Center

Tips on placing a successful bid:
Research current retail and auction price data at www.wineprices.com to determine a fair and realistic bid price.
Consider that the seller is charged a 15% to 20% commission, as well as shipping (if the wine is not in Vinfolio storage).
Note the location from which you'd like your wine to be sourced. Wine in Vinfolio storage can usually be fulfilled more quickly upon bid acceptance.
Make sure the quantity you are bidding on is actually available in the Marketplace.
Remember, sellers are not obligated to sell their wine, but placing a fair and realistic bid will improve your chances of success.
