We have added 353 new wines to our inventory over the last week.
This week features several great vintages from worlds old and new. From the greatly anticipated, and newly Robert Parker-rated, 2005 Bordeaux vintage we have secured a very limited quantity of the Clos Fourtet (98 WA), a luscious, dark fruit bomb with intensity second to none.
The 2005 vintage of Chateauneuf-du-Pape was more challenging but produced some true classics. The Vieux Lazaret Cuvee Exceptionelle (94 WA) certainly lives up to its name, and has been called the best ever produced at this estate. With its profound robe and intense color, it is a sure bet for the next 15-20 years.
1998 is a fabulous year for Blanc de blancs Champagne, with magnificent depth and complexity. The 1998 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne (93 IWC), the premiere cuvee from this illustrious Champagne house, is a textbook balance of ripeness and minerality.
We are also very excited about our acquisition of the most recent vintage from our northern neighbors in Oregon. The 2006 Raptor Ridge Pinot Noir Reserve (94 VF), from the Northern Willamette Valley, demonstrates a perfect balance of fruit, acidity, richness, and elegance.
