New Cellar: Three Kings of Napa |

This week we have 158 New Cellar acquisitions, but we'd like to highlight three estates which lie off the tourist trail and focus exclusively on what they do best - making wine - Araujo, Colgin, and Harlan. Consistently producing some of the most exciting and highly regarded wines in Napa, they capture the essence of what makes Napa distinctive and famous in the world of wine.
Bart and Daphne Araujo make firm wines full of character, from organically grown fruit, which grow ever more interesting and enticing with age. Ann Colgin and winemaker Mark Aubert produce tiny amounts of concentrated wines that meld fruit, soil, and sunshine into the kind of potions that cast spells in fairy tales. Bob Harlan makes only two wines, together with consulting oenologist Michel Rolland and winemaker Bob Levy. Harlan's two Bordeaux blends weave the grace of the old world together with the charm of the new, and teach the value of both.
