It's impressive how VC developes. I suggest two features that will henhance the "social" aspect of the system:
- A "comment" feature for tasting notes, like on a blog. Now and then I read a TN and want to say something like "yes, I loved that wine, too", or "it's interesting how we can have such different perceptions" etc, or sometimes I would ask for more information on a wine, how long had it been decanted before tasting etc etc. You get the message...:-) - A private messaging system... |

- A "comment" feature for tasting notes..... Good suggestion. We already have commenting on WinePosts and this would probably work in a similar way. One question do you think it makes sense to allow commenting at the wine level as well? Imagine going to wine detail page for 1999 Latour and being able to comment at that level. Overkill? What do you think? - A private messaging system... While we currently have integration with Facebook, it was done before the Facebook Connect spec came out. Facebook Connect has the capability to send private messages. Do you think this would be sufficient or do you see the need for private message features that Facebook cannot provide? Thanks for writing in! Great suggestions. -------------------- Andres Camacho

Imagine going to wine detail page for 1999 Latour and being able to comment at that level. Overkill? What do you think? Why not? I think it would only make the system more dynamic. There have been occasions when I have wanted to make a comment on a wine that isn't a tasting note. While we currently have integration with Facebook, it was done before the Facebook Connect spec came out. Facebook Connect has the capability to send private messages. Do you think this would be sufficient or do you see the need for private message features that Facebook cannot provide? Yes, I think a PM feature independent of FB is useful. Not everyone is on FB (believe it or not...)... |
